Take Away Souvenirs

In 2019 I had the pleasure to take part in an innitiative ro create souvenirs inspired by areas of my homecity Plovdiv. The result was a collection of postcards, pins, and chocolates all dedicated to Kapana – one of the most vibrant and lively neighbourhoods in the city. In the past it had been the home of craft stores and workshops; a tradition which still lives side by side with more contemporary creatives and venues.

The inspiration for the illustration came from the history of the neighbourhood: a century ago, it used to be the artisanal heart of the city, which accommodated craft stores and workshops. The heritage can be still noticed in the names of some of the streets – “Goldsmith Street”, “Tanner street”, etc.
